Large Shino Basket

This piece was wheel-thrown with no bottom, textured, cut in half, opened up and reassembled in an oval shape on a clay slab. Hand-build feet were attached and then a wheel-thrown handle added. No attempt was made to eliminate any seams. In fact, they are actually emphasized. The piece was then bisque-fired, glazed and fired in a reduction atmosphere to Cone 10.

It is lovely as a table centerpiece with lots and lots of flowers in it.
