Ironwashed Shino Basket

This piece was wheel-thrown, textured, cut in half, opened up, placed on a clay slab, and reassembled. Hand-built feet were added and a wheel-thrown handle was attached to the top. All seams are emphasized. The inside and handle of the basket were glazed in an orange shino glaze. The outside of the body was washed in a solution of red iron oxide and water.

The piece was then fired to Cone 10 in a propane-fired reduction kiln.
